At home we are five people: my wife Elena, our kids Giulia, Alice and Ettore, and myself. Our house, built by my father, Vittorino, in 1976, is upstairs from the cellar and is located at the foot of Mount Vendevolo. Up until the 60s, in these area, farmers used to grow only wheat, then some neighbours started planting vineyards on the least accessible plots where cultivation of wheat was particularly difficult because of the steep slopes or the stony soil. Gradually, my father started cultivating his vineyard too. Initially it was just for the house, then for a few friends, then for friends of friends and that is how my father ended up with a cellar. My wife Elena comes from a totally different professional background. As we got married, and the family started to grow, she was more and more sharing my passion for vine growing and totally embraced this life style. So, now, besides taking care of the family, she welcomes guests in the winery tasting room and she is also a great help in managing the administrative part of the business. In 1999 I took over from my father and that is when I started bottling under Vigna Ròda brand. In my work I enjoy the professional support of Wine Maker Daniele Stenico who oversees all vinification and bottling phases.
